Jean Louisa Kelly (born March 9, 1972) is a highly reputed American actress and talented singer who found her way to stardom after making her film debut as Tia Russell in Uncle Buck (1989) alongside the late John Candy. She has an impressive body of work with an array of other films to her credit, including The Fantasticks (1995) and Mr. Holland's Opus (1995). Between 2000 to 2006, she won the hearts of many playing Kim Warner on the popular CBS sitcom Yes, Dear. Her first-ever professional paying job, as a child, was starring in 'Annie' and she reprised her role in the subsequent summer. Her pre-college resume boasts roles in the original Broadway cast of Sondheim's Into the Woods, and the film Uncle Buck.
In the mid-1990s, after graduating from Columbia University, she became well known for a series of TV commercials she did for MCI long distance. From 1995, she played Luisa in the musical film The Fantasticks and appeared as Rowena Morgan in Mr. Holland's Opus. Her film repertoire grew over the 90s with projects such as 'Origin of the Species,' 'The Day Lincoln was Shot,' and 'Landfall' (2001). From 2000 to 2006, Kelly starred as Kim Warner on the long-running sitcom Yes, Dear. Later years saw her featuring on various TV shows and starring in movies of the week. Kelly also has albums of children's music and has released an EP and an album.
