Jeremiah 'Jerry' O'Connell, born February 17, 1974, is a renowned American actor. Known for his roles in popular films and series, O'Connell started acting at a young age and quickly rose to prominence. Regarded for his roles as Quinn Mallory in the television series Sliders, Vern Tessio in Stand by Me, and Detective Woody Hoyt on NBC drama Crossing Jordan among others, O’Connell has left an ineradicable mark in Hollywood. After a stint as an art director in an advertising agency, he shifted to acting and embraced it with open arms. He is a film major from New York University and juggled between jobs and auditions early in his career before landing his first feature film role. Besides acting, O'Connell had his share of screenwriting and production. He sold his first screenplay, First Daughter, in 1999 that starred Katie Holmes and Michael Keaton.

As a child, O'Connell did commercial work and he continues demonstrating his versatility as an actor. From starring in sitcoms like My Secret Identity, and co-starring in Fox’s Do Not Disturb, to guest-starring in Justice League Unlimited, O'Connell has done it all. He is known for appearing in thrillers like Obsessed and comedy horrors like Piranha 3D. Despite a few failures, he bounced back with Broadway shows and recurring roles in television series. He co-starred in the Hallmark film Love Locks with his wife and was involved in a few commercial endeavours. CBS announced O’Connell’s installation as a permanent co-host for The Talk in 2021. He’s also committed to his personal life and family, juggling his passion for acting with his responsibilities as a husband and father.
