She embarked on her prolific career in the 1960s and has had the privilege to work with renowned directors such as Pedro Almodóvar and Ventura Pons. Over her many years in the industry, she has starred in numerous films, beginning with 'Secuestro en la ciudad' released in 1965, and continued to cast in multiple other films including 'Cría Cuervos', 'El amor del capitán Brando', 'Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón' and recently 'Parallel Mothers' in 2021.

Apart from films, she is also prominent in the theatre world with performances in 'Tots eren fills meus', 'La casa de Bernarda Alba', 'Les alegres casades de Windsor' and many more. She has been recognized for her immense contributions to the theater and was honored with the Premio Nacional de Teatro in September 2018 after already having received the Premio Honorario Gaudi in 2014. It's clear that Serrano Romero's versatility and talent pave the way for her long-lasting career, marking her as one of the standout figures in the film and theatre industry.
