Kirstie Alley

**Kirstie Louise Alley** was an acclaimed American actress and television personality. Her breakthrough role came as Rebecca Howe in the NBC sitcom 'Cheers' (1987–1993), a part which earned her both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991. Alley continued to enjoy success on television, starring in the lead role in the sitcom 'Veronica's Closet' from 1997 to 2000, which saw her receive additional Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Her on-screen career was not limited to television, as she appeared in a variety of films such as 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' (1982), 'Look Who's Talking' (1989) and its two sequels, as well as 'Deconstructing Harry' (1997) and 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' (1999). Alley was also known for her appearances in reality television, participating in associated programs such as 'Dancing with the Stars' (2011–2012) and 'Celebrity Big Brother' (2018). Alley was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1951, she graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1969. Following a move to Los Angeles, Alley pursued Scientology and began working as an interior designer. Alley's long and successful career spanned numerous roles and formats, from game shows to acting, and included a significant role in the Star Trek series. In 1994, she won her second Emmy Award for the television film 'David's Mother'. She continued her acting career well into the 2000s, with notable roles in 'Fat Actress' (2005), and a return to sitcom acting in 'Kirstie' (2013). Later, she became more involved in reality television, once again showing her versatility as an entertainer. Away from her career, Alley was known for her marriages to Bob Alley and Parker Stevenson, and she had two adopted children. Her personal life also included a high-profile relationship with the Church of Scientology. She passed away in December 2022 at the age of 71.
