Melissa Benoist

Melissa Marie Benoist (pronounced bə-NOYST) is a highly regarded American actress and singer. She was born on October 4, 1988, and is renowned for her significant acting prowess shown in various roles she has portrayed. Her acting career gained considerable momentum with her role as Marley Rose in the acclaimed Fox musical comedy-drama, Glee where she was a series regular during the fifth season. Soon after, Melissa rose to widespread popularity through her portrayal of the title character on the CBS/CW superhero series, Supergirl. She was also notable in movies such as the drama Whiplash, the comedy-drama Danny Collins, the crime comedy Band of Robbers, and the romantic western The Longest Ride, among others.

In addition to her screen appearances, Benoist graced the stage with her Broadway debut in 2018 where she played Carole King in the well-loved jukebox musical, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
