Micheline Bernard (born May 15, 1955 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian actress whose career has spanned more than four decades, beginning in the early 1980s and continuing to the present day. She earned her formal training at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Québec, graduating in 1977, and quickly became a familiar presence on Quebec’s stage, television, and film scenes. Bernard’s breakthrough on the big screen came with Small Blind (La mise à l'aveugle), a performance that garnered her a Jutra Award nomination for Best Actress at the 15th Jutra Awards in 2013, highlighting her ability to convey complex emotional depth. Seven years later she solidified her reputation as a versatile supporting player by winning the Prix Iris for Best Supporting Actress at the 22nd Quebec Cinema Awards in 2020 for her role in Matthias & Maxime. Her extensive filmography includes memorable turns in The Sphinx (Le Sphinx), Red Eyes (Les Yeux rouges), The Three Madeleines (Les fantômes des trois Madeleines), 8:17 p.m. Darling Street (20h17 rue Darling), the cult classic It’s Not Me, I Swear! (C’est pas moi, je le jure!), Crying Out (À l'origine d'un cri), King Dave, A Brother’s Love (La Femme de mon frère), Richelieu, and the intriguingly titled Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant). On television she has appeared in popular series such as Radio Enfer, Diva, Ramdam, Tactik, Unité 9 and Entre deux draps, demonstrating a range that moves effortlessly between comedy and drama.
