Sam Douglas

Sam Douglas, born as Douglas Samuel Waters on 17 June 1957, is a renowned British actor whose expertise lies in a variety of fields including films, television, video games, and theatre. His prominent role as private detective Scott Shelby in the PlayStation 3 video game Heavy Rain gave him immense popularity. Additionally, he is remembered for the portrayal of King Herod in The Bible miniseries for the History Channel and as Rosebud in the iconic movie Snatch. Apart from these, he has had numerous roles in commercials and on stage, evidencing his versatility in the field. Douglas commenced his professional journey in the year 1984 and has been actively contributing to the field of acting since then. Douglas's education forms a critical part of his successful acting career. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from Simpson College, Iowa, and in directing from the Oklahoma City University School of Drama, under the guidance of Alan Langdon. His extensive contributions in theatre are not to be out-shadowed either. He has performed in several revered theatre institutions in US and UK such as the Royal National Theatre, Greenwich Theatre, Royal Court Theatre, and Savoy Theatre. Some of his notable plays include A Raisin in the Sun, Porgy and Bess, The Darker Face of the Earth, and A Streetcar Named Desire, among others. Apart from being an actor, Douglas is also a Theatre Director from the Actors Space in New York and conducts professional method acting workshops in London and Oxford.
