Stephen Weaver Collins, popularly known as Stephen Collins, is an American former actor famous for his role as Eric Camden on the WB/CW television series 7th Heaven which ran from 1996 to 2007. He also played Dayton King in the ABC television series No Ordinary Family and Gene Porter in the NBC television series Revolution. Prior to the acclaimed 7th Heaven, Collins had already made a mark for himself with his roles as Commander Willard Decker in the 1979 hit film Star Trek: The Motion Picture and fighter pilot Jake Cutter in the ABC television series Tales of the Gold Monkey. Collins wrapped up his career in 2014 after confessing to sexual misconduct against multiple minors.

Stephen Collins was born on October 1, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa to Madeleine (née Robertson) and Cyrus Stickney Collins, an airline executive. Collins grew up with his two elder brothers in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and graduated cum laude from Amherst College in Massachusetts where he showed his early passion for performing by playing bass guitar in several bands. He carved himself an impressive career in Hollywood, receiving an Emmy nomination for his work alongside Ann-Margret in the mini-series The Two Mrs. Grenvilles and played John F. Kennedy in the mini-series A Woman Named Jackie. In his later years, Collins moved on to television roles such as Dr. Gene Porter in the NBC series Revolution and the short-lived ABC series No Ordinary Family before finally ending his career in 2014.
