Susie Porter is a renowned Australian actress with an impressive career portfolio in film, theatre, and television. Born in 1970 or 1971 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, Porter debuted in the 1996 film Idiot Box. She ascended to prominence through a wide range of films, including Paradise Road (1997), Welcome to Woop Woop (1997), Two Hands (1999), Better Than Sex (2000), The Monkey's Mask (2000), Mullet (2001), Teesh and Trude (2002), and The Caterpillar Wish (2006). Porter also gained recognition for her roles in popular television series like Patricia Wright in East West 101, Eve Pritchard in East of Everything, Kay Parker in Sisters of War, and Marie Winter in Wentworth.

Susie was born to Bill, a doctor, and Jenny, a nurse, and has three sisters Cathy, Jackie, and Louise. She completed her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Newcastle and graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1995. Porter is known as a wildlife advocate and ambassador for World Animal Protection. She started her television career working minor roles before landing some major ones which earned her recognition and awards, such as RAN an Australian mini-series that won her an AFI award for Best Leading Actress in a Television Drama. Some of her notable television appearances include East West 101, East of Everything, and Wentworth. Her film debut was made alongside her television initiation in 1996, starring in various significant movies over her career and earning several awards for her excellent performance.
