Tyrese Darnell Gibson (born December 30, 1978) is an American R&B singer and actor from Los Angeles, California. After signing with RCA Records in 1998, he released his debut single "Nobody Else" and soon after a self-titled debut album which received platinum certification by the RIAA. Tyrese has sold over 4 million singles and albums in the United States. His music career has seen the release of five more albums, some of which received gold certifications and a nomination for Best R&B Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. His acting career started with a starring role in John Singleton's coming-of-age hood film Baby Boy (2001) and later gained widespread recognition playing Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious franchise and Robert Epps in the Transformers franchise. Gibson was born and raised in Watts, Los Angeles, California by a single mother, alongside his three older siblings. He began his career after auditioning for a Coca-Cola commercial and got his breakthrough after an appearance in a 1994 Coca-Cola advertisement.
