Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (born 16 November 1964 in Turin, Italy) is an Italian and French actress, screenwriter, and film director whose career spans more than three decades and encompasses over eighty‑five film, television, and stage productions. Raised in a culturally rich bilingual household, she moved with her family to Paris in 1973, an experience that later informed her nuanced portrayals of characters navigating identity and displacement. After training at Jean Darel, the American Center with Blanche Salant, and Patrice Chéreau’s École des Amandiers, Bruni Tedeschi made her television debut in 1983 and her first notable film appearance in Hôtel de France (1987), quickly establishing herself as a compelling on‑screen presence.
