Will Forte

**Orville Willis Forte IV** (/ˈfɔːrteɪ/ FOR-tay; born June 17, 1970) is an American actor and comedian. He distinguished himself as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live for eight seasons, from 2002 to 2010. During his tenure on the show, he portrayed numerous memorable sketches and characters, one of which led to a feature film adaptation, MacGruber (2010), and a streaming television limited series in 2021. In addition, Forte is known for creating and starring in the sitcom The Last Man on Earth (2015–2018), earning him three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He has also lent his voice to animated productions like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, My Life as a Courgette, and Clone High. Before finding success in the comedy world, Forte obtained a history degree from UCLA and worked as a financial broker. He then made a career switch to comedy, taking classes with the improv group The Groundlings and working as a writer and producer on 3rd Rock from the Sun and That '70s Show, among others. Born in Alameda, California on June 17, 1970, Forte was interested in comedy from a young age, idolizing comedians Peter Sellers, David Letterman, and Steve Martin, as well as the sketch-comedy television series Saturday Night Live. He was a member of the varsity football and swim teams at Acalanes High School and was voted "Best Personality" by his graduating class. Following high school, he attended UCLA, where he completed a degree in history. After leaving UCLA, he initially pursued a career in finance following his father's footsteps, before realizing his passion for writing and comedy. Over his career, Forte has engaged in various Hollywood roles from acting to writing and producing, marking a well-rounded and successful journey in the entertainment industry.
