In 1966, a quiet night on the Louisiana bayou turned into a turning point for justice. When Gary Duncan, a Black teenager, intervened in an argument between white and Black teens, he was met with violence. Falsely accused of assault, Duncan's arrest sparks a David vs. Goliath battle against systemic racism. With courageous lawyer Richard Sobol by his side, they fight for truth and equality, taking their case all the way to the Supreme Court.
