The cinematic journey begins with a poignant scene of innocence lost, as a young girl's fascination with alligators at a Florida stunt show is shattered when one of the performers meets a gruesome end. The crowd's morbid curiosity is piqued, and the proprietors capitalize on the tragedy by peddling baby alligators to enthralled onlookers. The little girl, whose name is yet unknown, purchases one such creature and names it Ramon, fostering an unlikely bond between them. Tragedy strikes, however, when her father's rage leads him to flush Ramon down the toilet, only for the resilient reptile to emerge unscathed in the Chicago sewer system.

Twelve years pass, and we're reintroduced to a world-weary detective, David Madison (Robert Forster), haunted by his past mistakes. His partner's untimely demise has left an indelible mark on his psyche, and he's now driven to redemption through a series of gruesome discoveries. Human remains begin surfacing in the city's water filtration systems, prompting Madison to team up with a rookie officer for a perilous journey into the depths of the sewer. Their investigation takes a deadly turn when they're confronted by an enormous alligator, its massive size and ferocity leaving no doubt that it's Ramon, grown to a staggering 36 feet in length.

Madison's world is turned upside down as his partner falls prey to the monster, and the possibility of career ruin looms large. Seeking guidance from a reptile expert, he turns to Marisa Kendall (Robin Riker), a zoologist with a personal connection to the case. Unbeknownst to Madison, she's the very same girl who once befriended Ramon, only to have her father's actions lead to the creature's untimely demise.

As the body count rises and the evidence mounts, Madison uncovers a sinister plot involving a pharmaceutical company experimenting with hormones on dogs. The company, driven by profit and a disregard for ethics, has been injecting canines with growth serum, ultimately disposing of their dead specimens in the sewer. It's here that Ramon has been feasting, consuming the hormone-laced carcasses and growing to monstrous proportions.

With the stakes higher than ever, Madison and Marisa must join forces to stop the monster and bring justice to those responsible for its grotesque growth. The fate of Chicago hangs in the balance as they navigate a treacherous web of deceit and corruption, all while confronting their own personal demons and the dark secrets that have been lurking beneath the surface.

As the city's tranquility is shattered by the emergence of a behemoth alligator from the depths of the sewer, chaos erupts and panic sets in. The scaly predator wreaks havoc on the urban landscape, leaving a trail of destruction and bloodshed in its wake. Despite being under fire from the authorities, Madison (character A) remains hell-bent on exacting revenge against the reptilian menace.

In a desperate bid to regain control, the city enlists the services of a flamboyant big-game hunter, who boasts about his prowess in taking down such formidable foes. However, this overconfident adventurer meets a grisly end when the alligator ambushes him in a dark alleyway and devours him whole. In an unexpected turn of events, the owner of the pharmaceutical company is interrupted at his lavish black-tie event by the monstrous gator, which targets several party guests before claiming the life of its host in his own limousine.

Meanwhile, Madison and Marisa concoct a plan to eliminate the threat once and for all. As the alligator makes its way back to the sewer, Madison follows it down into the depths with a bomb, while Marisa oversees from above, ensuring that their exit route remains clear. Just as Madison is about to make his escape, a careless driver unwittingly blocks his path by parking her car directly on top of the manhole, putting him in grave danger. However, they manage to extract him just in time, leaving Ramon to meet a fiery demise when the bomb detonates.

In the aftermath, another baby alligator is seen emerging from a drainpipe in the sewer, suggesting that it may have been flushed down there by an unsuspecting owner, perpetuating the cycle of destruction.
