In a nation shrouded in secrecy, a notorious figure from the annals of conflict remains at large. The General (Ratko Mladić), a war criminal accused of perpetuating unspeakable atrocities, has managed to evade capture despite an international outcry for his surrender. His government, seemingly complicit in his evasion, maintains a veil of ignorance about his whereabouts, fueling speculation and pressure from abroad.

As the General navigates the urban landscape, he is flanked by a loyal entourage, vigilant guardians who ensure his safety and anonymity. Despite his notorious reputation, he blends into the crowd, his features unremarkable among the city's denizens. It is here that he forms an unlikely bond with Tanja, his new maid, whose stoic demeanor initially belies her sharp instincts.

Initially, the General treats Tanja with a mix of condescension and cruelty, but as their interactions unfold, a begrudging friendship blossoms. Unbeknownst to him, Tanja is actually a skilled operative, tasked with protecting the very man she has been hired to serve. Her duties take her on a poignant journey to his ancestral village, where the General's past and present collide.

As fate would have it, Tanja's driver awaits their arrival, his intentions far from benevolent. With ruthless efficiency, he eliminates Tanja, leaving the General to ponder the sudden turn of events. The General returns to his city apartment, a prisoner of circumstance, as the authorities close in on him. In a final act of defiance, he prepares for his inevitable arrest, laying out a handgun and ammunition on his kitchen table – a futile attempt to reclaim control over his life.
