Plot Summary

In a city where reputations are forged on the anvil of cunning, Bhim Singh Chandel (Jaaved Jaafrey), a notorious don, reigns supreme. His penchant for hawala transactions has earned him a reputation that precedes him, and when the authorities set their sights on his prized possession - a sleek ride under surveillance - he turns to his trusted mechanic for assistance. The mechanic, well-versed in the underworld, recommends Babli (Ranbir Kapoor), a charismatic car thief with a mantra that echoes through the streets: “Na Sammaan Ka Moh, Na Aapmaan Ka Bhay” (“No yearning for respect, no fear of humiliation”). This enigmatic operator has a way with people, and his latest conquest is Tara (Pallavi Sharda), a stunning beauty he meets at a wedding. Despite their vastly different worlds, Babli’s affections are genuine, but his overtures are met with disdain as she rejects him outright.

Meanwhile, Inspector Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and his wife, Head Constable Bulbul Chautala (Neetu Kapoor), are hot on the trail of this slippery character. Their pursuit is driven by a deep-seated determination to bring Babli to justice after he narrowly escaped their clutches during a previous encounter.

As fate would have it, Bhim commissions Babli to steal a pristine vehicle with no police record - a task that requires finesse and expertise. Unbeknownst to both parties, the car in question belongs to Tara, and Babli’s actions set off a chain reaction that will change their lives forever.

Babli’s world is turned upside down when he discovers the true identity of the vehicle’s owner and realizes his mistake. His desperation to rectify the situation leads him to propose an unlikely alliance with Tara - one that requires her trust, and ultimately, a journey to Chandigarh to reclaim her stolen property from Bhim’s goons.

As they navigate the treacherous landscape together, tensions simmer beneath the surface as Tara’s ire is stoked by Babli’s unapologetic thievery. Her scorn is matched only by his defiance, born of a life marked by hardship and abandonment. With no guidance to shape his moral compass, Babli has fashioned his own code, one that prioritizes survival over rectitude.

When he infiltrates Bhim’s stronghold to retrieve Tara’s car, Babli finds himself on the brink of disaster, narrowly escaping with his life as the stakes are raised to a perilous level.

As fate would have it, Babli’s mischievous streak gets the better of him, leading him to pilfer Bhim’s prized vehicle from right outside his lair. The successful heist yields an unexpected bonus: a bag stuffed with Bhim’s hard-earned cash, which further complicates matters. Bhim’s keen mind quickly pieces together the trail of clues, including the abandoned scooter left behind by Babli, and he pinpointed the culprit as none other than his own nemesis.

Meanwhile, Chulbul and Bulbul, a childless couple with an insatiable desire for parenthood, pay a visit to Babli’s humble orphanage with adoption on their minds. Their search leads them to Babli himself, who has just arrived at the doorstep alongside Tara and her car. However, their joy is short-lived as Chulbul takes Babli into custody, only to be swayed by Tara’s cunning use of Bhim’s money as a bribe, securing Babli’s freedom.

As events unfold, Bhim tracks down Babli to his orphanage lair, where he exacts a dramatic hostage situation, demanding the immediate return of his stolen funds. Babli seizes the opportunity to slip into Chulbul’s residence, intent on pilfering the money, but finds himself trapped by the vigilant couple. In a bid to reason with them, Babli reveals Bhim’s sinister plan to hold an entire orphanage hostage, demanding the cash back. Though Bulbul remains skeptical, Chulbul is persuaded and orders the police control room to prepare for a daring raid on Bhim’s stronghold.

The ensuing chaos is nothing short of comical as both sides engage in a series of hilarious mishaps, with each trying to gain the upper hand. In the end, it is Babli who saves Bulbul from harm, while Chulbul defeats Bhim and Babli orchestrates a daring rescue mission to free the orphaned children. As a reward for his heroism, Babli finds himself adopted by Chulbul and Bulbul, ultimately tying the knot with Tara in a heartwarming conclusion.
