When 11-year-old Preston Waters stumbles upon a chance encounter with cunning crook Carl Quigley, a series of unexpected events unfolds. After Carl inadvertently hands Preston a blank check, the resourceful youngster seizes the opportunity to fill it out for a million dollars and cashes in. But as Preston revels in his newfound wealth, Carl and the FBI are hot on the boy's trail, leading him to discover the true value of money.
