In a seemingly ordinary household on Cherry Tree Lane, Christine (Rachael Blake) and Mike (Tom Butcher) are enjoying a peaceful dinner together, blissfully unaware that their tranquil evening is about to take a dark turn. Their son Sebastian is out at football practice, allowing the couple to indulge in a rare moment of calm. However, this peace is abruptly interrupted by an unexpected knock on the door, setting off a harrowing chain of events.
When Christine answers the door, she is met by Rian (Jumayn Hunter), Asad (Ashley Chin), and Teddy (Sonny Muslim), whose intentions quickly reveal themselves to be far from innocent. As they force their way into the home, Mike is rendered helpless, bound and gagged, while his wife is viciously dragged away. This violent intrusion stems from a desire for revenge against Sebastian for inadvertently contributing to Rian’s cousin’s incarceration.
As the night progresses, the trio’s motives grow increasingly sinister. Rian takes Christine into another room, leaving Asad to keep Mike company. The two engage in a bizarre exchange, sharing stories about their lives, which starkly contrasts with the horrific events spiraling around them. Meanwhile, Teddy makes his way to find a cash machine. The arrival of Beth (Jennie Jacques) and Charman (Corinne Douglas), along with Beth’s younger brother Oscar, brings an axe intended for Rian to use against Sebastian.
When Sebastian finally returns home, he is met with an unimaginable horror: his friends have turned him into their personal plaything, subjecting him to brutal torture and abuse. The sound of his anguished screams drives Mike to desperate measures; he manages to free himself by cutting through the ropes that bind him. Fueled by a fierce determination, Mike arms himself with a candlestick, sneaking upstairs in a bid to rescue his family.
However, his stealthy maneuvers are thwarted when Charman spots him, prompting Asad, Teddy, Charman, and Beth to make a hasty retreat from the house. This leaves Mike in a confrontation with Rian, where he must summon all his strength and desperation to gain the upper hand in a brutal struggle. After Christine comforts her battered son, she implores Mike to take action, but he finds himself paralyzed in shock from the chaos unfolding around them.
The film culminates in a tense moment as Mike, still reeling from the night’s traumatic events, stands in the kitchen, only to have Oscar appear behind him. With knives drawn, the two enemies lock eyes, their fates precariously hanging in the balance, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
