Plot Summary

As fate would have it, Cha Xiaodao’s life took a drastic turn following a fateful car accident that led her into the path of Mo Feili, a ruthless debt collector with a reputation for being as slippery as an eel. With a genius-level intellect but a woefully underdeveloped emotional intelligence, Cha Xiaodao found herself at the mercy of Mo Feili’s cunning manipulation, forced to confront a dark period in her past that had left her reeling from the abandonment by her mother and the crushing blow of being fired from her job. The cumulative weight of these traumatic events sent Cha Xiaodao spiraling into a vortex of despair, her only hope for salvation lying in the unlikeliest of places: a renowned therapist who specialized in treating even the most recalcitrant cases of psychological distress.

It was here that Cha Xiaodao’s worlds collided once more with Mo Feili’s, this time in a setting that seemed as unlikely as it was precarious. Panicked by the sudden reappearance of her tormentor, Cha Xiaodao was instead surprised to discover that Mo Feili had also been drawn into the doctor’s orbit, his severe insomnia serving as the catalyst for their reconnection. As if orchestrating some twisted game of fate, the therapist presented Mo Feili and Cha Xiaodao as two sides of a coin, each capable of serving as a therapeutic “medicine” to treat the other’s deep-seated psychological wounds.

As Cha Xiaodao’s initial skepticism gave way to a glimmer of hope, she found herself tentatively embracing this unlikely partnership with Mo Feili, a union that seemed destined to be as turbulent as it was transformative. The stark contrast between their personalities - one a paragon of arrogance and dominance, the other a wellspring of timidity and fear - set the stage for a series of events that would ebb and flow like the tides, carrying them on a journey of laughter, tears, and ultimately, redemption.
