Plot Summary

In the scorching 1890s Siam, the enigmatic Siang, a Muay Thai warrior with an affinity for rocketry, has dedicated his life to righting wrongs within the Buddhist temple where he was raised. His quest is twofold: to reclaim water buffalo stolen from impoverished Isan farmers by cunning cattle raiders and to hunt down the elusive figure responsible for slaughtering his parents.

Meanwhile, Lord Waeng, a powerful nobleman with ambitions to dominate the agricultural landscape, seeks to monopolize the market for his steam tractors. He hires a behemoth of a man, once a convict, alongside Siang, to execute a dastardly plan: raze Isan farmhouses to ashes, slaughter cattle traders, take farmers hostage near the farmhouse, and rounded up all water buffalo for indiscriminate slaughter, leaving farmers bereft of draft animals essential for rice cultivation. Lord Waeng’s minions soon find themselves pitted against Nai Hoi Singh, a formidable cattle trader with supernatural prowess and a chest emblazoned with an enigmatic tattoo that draws Siang’s attention.

As the Thief attempts to pilfer Singh’s prized cattle herd, Siang briefly confronts his quarry before being repelled. Lord Waeng seeks counsel from the arcane Nai Hoi Dam, a former partner of Singh who was once cursed by him to be repelled by even the briefest moment of sunlight. Fueled by a burning desire for revenge, Dam is determined to find a means to vanquish Singh, ultimately revealing that the only way to counter his spells is to harness the menstrual blood of an untouched virgin – the daughter of the black wizard.

Lord Waeng feigns an orphan’s plight, claiming to be a fellow victim of Singh’s wrath, and Siang is coaxed into joining forces with Dam. Together, they orchestrate a trap that leaves Singh momentarily subdued. However, as the dust settles, Dam reveals his true identity: the very man responsible for Siang’s parents’ demise. The tattoo, it turns out, serves as a symbol of the sorcery shared by both Dam and Siang, a revelation that sets them on a path of bitter reckoning. Amidst this maelstrom of deceit and betrayal, an unlikely alliance forms between Siang and a wounded Singh, as they flee from their common enemy in search of redemption.

Within the opulent confines of Waeng’s palace, a shocking revelation is unearthed as Dam confesses that E’Sao is not his biological daughter, but rather a helpless infant he had brazenly abducted. His sinister intentions now clear, Dam plots to violate E’Sao and render Singh perpetually incapacitated through dark magic. However, Waeng anticipates this nefarious plan and poisons Dam, only for the cunning black wizard to transfer his consciousness into Waeng’s own body, effectively rendering himself a puppeteer.

As chaos ensues, Siang arrives at the scene, unleashing a merciless assault on the Thief, but ultimately proving unable to best Dam in combat. It is not until Singh regains his powers and imbues Siang with magical amulets extracted from his own chest that the tide of battle begins to shift. Despite his weakened state, Singh engages in a perilous duel with Dam, sacrificing his own life in the process.

In the aftermath, Siang capitalizes on this momentary advantage, employing his newfound magical prowess to vanquish the dark sorcerer, whose malevolent energies are further hindered by Waeng’s lingering consciousness. As the dust settles, E’Sao and Siang join forces, utilizing rockets to propel Dam into a tractor belonging to Waeng, thereby orchestrating a catastrophic explosion that claims both villains’ lives.

As the curtain closes on this tale of strife and redemption, the surviving couple departs into the golden glow of sunset, astride a majestic buffalo, their bond forged in the crucible of adversity.
