As Marie and her best friend Alex arrive at a sprawling suburban home belonging to Alex’s parents, they prepare for a weekend filled with studying and relaxation. Their time begins with a tour of the house, as Alex shows Marie its hidden corners. The evening culminates in a warm family dinner, providing a sense of normalcy before chaos disrupts their peaceful retreat.

When night falls, Marie retreats to her room, where she finds comfort in the soothing notes of her favorite music, seeking the solace that only solitude can bring. Unbeknownst to them, however, a sinister shift is on the horizon. Suddenly, the peace is shattered by the doorbell ringing. Daniel, Alex’s father, awakens and goes to answer it, completely unaware of the horror lying in wait.

As he opens the door, a malevolent figure emerges, brandishing a straight razor that marks the beginning of terror for the entire household. Upon inspecting the presumed corpse, she faces a shocking moment as the killer’s hand unexpectedly grasps her throat, forcing her to suffocate him with a plastic sheet. This brutal act is later revealed on a store surveillance tape, framing Marie as the perpetrator of the gas station murders. Yet, beneath the chilling surface lies a disturbing truth: Marie is delusional and exhibits a twisted romantic obsession with Alex—her friend who unknowingly stands as the victim in the wake of real tragedy.
