Check out what happened in Howard the Duck!

In the midst of his mundane existence on Duckworld, an unexpected twist propels Howard (Howard the Duck) into a cosmic adventure. A peculiar incident involving his armchair sends him soaring through space, landing him in Cleveland, Ohio, where he discovers a world both familiar and foreign. The introduction to Beverly Switzler (character name not provided), who finds herself in a precarious situation, sparks Howard's bravery as he employs an unconventional style of martial arts to thwart her attackers. As the dust settles, Beverly takes Howard under her wing, inviting him to spend the night at her apartment.

The next day, Beverly enlists the expertise of Phil Blumburtt (character name not provided), a scientist she hopes can facilitate Howard's return home. However, upon learning that Phil is merely a lab assistant, Howard becomes resigned to his new life on Earth and declines Beverly's offer of assistance. He takes up employment as a janitor at a romance spa, only to eventually quit and rekindle his connection with Beverly, who fronts the rock band Cherry Bomb.

A confrontation erupts when Howard stands up to their manager, who seeks to manipulate and control the band. Howard's victory is short-lived, as he soon finds himself back at Beverly's apartment, where she persuades him to assume the role of Cherry Bomb's new manager. As they grow closer, their affection culminates in a romantic tryst, which is abruptly interrupted by Phil and his colleagues, who reveal that a malfunctioning laser spectroscope was responsible for Howard's arrival on Earth.

The group visits the laboratory, where the device malfunctions once more, raising concerns about potential consequences for the planet. In this precarious situation, Dr. Walter Jenning (character name not provided) becomes host to an extraterrestrial entity from a distant region of space, who introduces himself as the "Dark Overlord of the Universe." As they patronize a local diner, the creature demonstrates his growing mental powers by destroying the table and condiments.

A series of unfortunate events unfolds when Howard's attempts at peace are met with hostility from a group of truckers. He is captured and nearly killed by the diner chef before the Dark Overlord intervenes, destroying the establishment and absconding with Beverly in tow.

As Howard tracks down Phil, they stumble upon a sleek ultralight aircraft that serves as the perfect vessel for their quest to find the elusive Dark Overlord and Beverly. Meanwhile, at the laboratory, the Dark Overlord orchestrates a sinister plan to transfer one of its kind into Beverly's body using the dimension machine. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, Howard and Phil arrive just in time to foil the villainous scheme. Initially, they appear to successfully dispatch the Dark Overlord with an experimental neutron disintegrator, but their victory is short-lived as it merely forces the creature out of Jenning's body and unleashes its true form upon them. Undeterred, Howard fires the neutron disintegrator once more, obliterating the beast and erasing any further threats from the Dark Overlord army. However, this bold move comes at a cost: destroying the laser spectroscope, their only means of returning to Duckworld is now lost forever. As a result, Howard must adapt to his new reality and becomes Beverly's manager, while Phil joins her tour as an employee. Together, they take to the stage, with Howard performing alongside Beverly in a thrilling display of music and magic.
