What is the profession of Luis's father?

Plot Summary

As Luis’s 12th birthday marks a milestone of solitude, his father, renowned ufologist Armin Sonntag (no stranger to the unconventional), remains perpetually preoccupied. Little does Luis know that the very beings he’s been searching for are mere inches away, camouflaging themselves in plain sight. On this fateful day, a chance encounter with an extraterrestrial trio - capable of transmogrifying into any form via their peculiar affinity for human hair - becomes the catalyst for a life-altering adventure. The three aliens, Wabo, Nag, and Mog, are stranded near Luis’s home after a crash landing, and he finds himself inexplicably drawn to their company.

Meanwhile, as Marlon commandeers the family SUV, Luis’s father returns from his younger sister’s play, only to find himself at the helm of an impromptu intergalactic masquerade. The unsuspecting neighbor, Armin Sonntag (played by Mr. Winters and Ms. Dieckendacker), unwittingly sets off a chain reaction when they attempt to don alien disguises.

As the family’s vehicle careens towards Dragon’s Peak, Luis confides in Marlon about the aliens’ true nature - an admission that almost sends his friend running for cover. Upon arriving at the peak, the extraterrestrial trio and Luis begin preparations to repair their mothership, hovering majestically above. The others soon converge upon the scene, unaware of the intergalactic shenanigans unfolding beneath their noses.

Just as Ms. Dieckendacker transforms into a gargantuan Tontonian beast - courtesy of her newfound ability to assimilate human locks - Luis finds himself tumbling down a cliffside. As Agent Stu, disguised as an ice cream vendor, intervenes to thwart the would-be assassin’s attempt on Luis’s life, chaos erupts. The scene culminates with Ms. Dieckendacker, now a formidable Tontonian, careening off a precipice.

Luis, shaken but resourceful, concocts a plan with his new extraterrestrial friends. In a daring ploy, the trio of aliens impersonate Luis, expertly manipulating the Tontonian into pursuing the real Luis - who finds himself rapidly encased in ice. Agent Stu subsequently dispatches Ms. Dieckendacker to her cooling chamber, while the aliens claim their “NubbiDubbi” rug order and soar back to their mothership.
