A spine-chilling sci-fi adventure, Lumina charts the harrowing journey of four friends as they frantically search for their missing companion amidst the shadows of a DUMB - DEEP UNDERGROUND MILITARY BASE. What they unearth in the remote deserts of the US and the vast sands of the Sahara will forever alter their destinies.
Patricia, portrayed by Sidney Nicole Rogers, is a free-spirited Nubian hippie and an aspiring videographer, currently staying at the luxurious abode of her wealthy friend, Alex, played by Rupert Lazarus. Alex is gearing up for a reunion party aimed at re-establishing old friendships while introducing his new girlfriend, Tatiana, brought to life by Eleanor Williams. As the gathering unfolds, tension escalates with the surprise appearance of Delilah, his ex-girlfriend, who is unashamed of her unresolved feelings for him. Despite the underlying strain in the air, the festivities proceed without any major upheavals.
However, the night takes a bizarre turn when blinding lights from the sky suddenly materialize, disappearing as quickly as they came, leaving chaos in their wake—most notably, the sudden vanishing of Tatiana.
As months pass, Alex’s mental health spirals downward. He immerses himself in an online community filled with conspiracy theorists and UFO enthusiasts, even reaching out to George, played by Ken Lawson, an old acquaintance whose eccentric beliefs echo the absurdity of his own. Concerned for Alex, Patricia contacts Delilah, who, despite their recent fallout, eagerly accepts the chance to reconnect with him.
Convinced that Tatiana is being held captive in a DUMB, Alex is driven by a haunting dream that insists on her predicament. Thus, the four friends embark on a journey rife with peril, one that could profoundly impact their lives. As they face alien threats, governmental pursuits, and relentless pursuit by mysterious lights overhead, they begin to comprehend the reality of their situation—one that proves far more dangerous than they had ever imagined.
In this riveting feature debut by Gino McKoy, the film showcases a stellar ensemble cast, including the legendary Eric Roberts, alongside emerging talents like Andrea Tivadar and Emily Hall.
