In a heart-wrenching plea, Marie cries, “I’m sorry,” as her mother is dragged into the tumultuous waters. Entranced townspeople loom ominously behind her, and as she starts to comprehend the dark reality, she utterances, “I see now,” just as her eyes gloss over in the grip of possession.
