In 1970s New York City, writer Roger Sharpe finds his creative spark in pinball machines. When a police raid wipes out his beloved games, he joins forces with the Music and Amusement Association to overturn the ban. As he navigates this quest, he falls for artist Ellen, and together they confront their pasts and take a shot at love, discovering that commitment is the greatest gamble of all.
