The cinematic journey begins with Carla (Mía Maestro) and Martin (Jean Paul Leroux), a young and affluent couple reveling in the dynamic nightlife of Caracas, Venezuela. Their lives take a drastic turn when they are suddenly kidnapped by three experienced abductors: Trece (Carlos Julio Molina), Budu (Pedro Perez), and Niga (Carlos Madera). These seasoned criminals target unwitting youth to extort significant sums from their wealthy families. Unfortunately, Carla and Martin become the latest victims in a perilous overnight journey through the city’s shadows, all while waiting for a ransom of twenty thousand dollars—a small fortune for a wealthy Caraqueño, yet equivalent to nearly eight years of the Venezuelan minimum wage.

Throughout the harrowing ordeal, both physical and emotional scars are inflicted upon Carla and Martin, but amidst the chaos, a peculiar bond begins to form between them. As they endure each trial and challenge, they find themselves starting to empathize with their captors, although this connection is fraught with fear and anxiety. Just when it seems they might find common ground, Martin makes a fateful decision during a moment of panic. In a crowded square, he instructs Niga to kill Carla, abandoning her to the whims of their merciless kidnappers.

While Martin faces a brutal end—his lifeless body unceremoniously discarded in the trunk of a taxi—Carla’s nightmare is far from over. With her father’s ransom being paid, a fierce argument erupts among the kidnappers about her fate: murder, assault, or release. Ultimately, a deal is reached, and Carla is released, albeit with harsh admonishments and a stern warning from Trece.

Yet, just as freedom seems within reach, she quickly finds herself ensnared by another group of heartless criminals. In a twist of fate, Trece intervenes once more, eliminating her new captors with lethal precision and rescuing her again. In the poignant conclusion of the film, we witness a transformed Carla, now dressed modestly and driving a humble vehicle. She dedicates her life to supporting vulnerable children plagued by poverty and illness, turning her traumatic experiences into a force for good.
