Lizabeth, portrayed by Sarah Drew, is a dedicated mother living in Anchorage, Alaska, during the year 1994, sharing her life with her two daughters. Working at a women’s crisis center, she draws from her own painful experiences with an abusive ex-husband, Greg, who complicates her life further with his reckless approach to their shared custody agreements. Frustrated and worried, Lizabeth reluctantly allows Greg, who has ties to Greece and family overseas, to take their daughters for his visitation.

The following day, chaos ensues when Lizabeth discovers that her daughters are absent from school. A desperate journey leads her to Greg’s residence, only to find it completely empty.
