As the esteemed science fair unfolds, Wednesday Addams (actress name) prepares to unveil her groundbreaking experiment, where she harnesses the genetic code of her trusty pet squid Socrates to revolutionize human improvement - albeit with an unforeseen side effect: a gradual transformation of Uncle Fester. However, her moment of glory is short-lived as she's taken aback by the sudden arrival of her family at the event. Nonetheless, her innovative work catches the attention of brilliant scientist Cyrus Strange, who takes notice of Wednesday's extraordinary achievement. Meanwhile, back at the Addams' mansion, Gomez becomes increasingly concerned that his children are drifting away from him and Morticia, prompting him to plan a family vacation to rekindle their bond.

As the road trip commences, Gomez and Morticia are approached by lawyer Mr. Mustela, who whispers allegations that Wednesday was switched at birth and may not be an Addams after all. Though they brush off his claims, the seeds of doubt have been sown. The family embarks on a journey across America, with Fester - now gradually undergoing metamorphosis due to Wednesday's experiment - inadvertently steering them towards Niagara Falls instead of their initial destination in Salem, Massachusetts. As they stop over in Sleepy Hollow, New York, Gomez and Morticia can't help but bring up Mustela's unsettling claims, which only serve to deepen their worries about Wednesday's true identity.

As the family converges on Miami, seeking guidance from Cousin Itt, Fester regales them with a tale of his visit to the delivery room where Wednesday was born - an anecdote that inadvertently fuels Gomez and Morticia's fears. The family then passes through San Antonio before parting ways with Itt at the Grand Canyon. Meanwhile, Wednesday, sensing Mustela's true intentions, ensnares him in her rope trap and uncovers his employer: none other than Cyrus himself. He presents an astonishing revelation to Wednesday: that he may be her biological father. As she conducts a DNA test using Gomez's hair, the results seem to confirm her suspicions - leaving her no choice but to abandon her family while they slumber.

The rest of the Addams clan awakens to discover Wednesday's departure and hotly pursue her to Sausalito, California.

As Cyrus welcomes Wednesday into his humble abode, he unveils a groundbreaking formula capable of birthing human-animal hybrids, eerily reminiscent of her own experiment. The revelation piques her curiosity, and she finds herself increasingly drawn to the eccentric doctor's lair. However, the arrival of the rest of the Addams clan brings an air of chaos to the proceedings, with Wednesday ultimately deciding to prolong her stay at Cyrus' behest.

As Pugsley stumbles upon the unsettling truth that Ophelia, Cyrus' daughter, has evolved into a pig, the doctor's true intentions are laid bare. He confesses that he had been manipulating Wednesday, exploiting the superiority of her formula for his own sinister purposes. The Addams family soon finds themselves captive, with Cyrus hell-bent on conducting experiments on them.

However, when the matriarch of the family refuses to comply with his demands, Cyrus resorts to enlisting Pongo's aid in tracking down his prized hybrid. Little does he know that Lurch and Pongo share a peculiar past, having previously crossed paths in a psychiatric institution. This shared history inspires an unlikely alliance between the two, as they join forces to liberate the Addams from their captor.

In the ensuing chaos, Cyrus inadvertently exposes himself to his own formula, metamorphosing into a grotesque hybrid creature with features of a chicken, cow, goat, and pig. The now utterly deranged doctor attempts to eliminate the family, only to be thwarted by Fester, who has undergone a shocking transformation into a squid-like monstrosity.

As the two monstrous combatants clash, Cyrus meets his untimely demise after plummeting off a cliff to his death. Meanwhile, Wednesday is able to restore Fester to his natural form using a pendant imbued with the blood of her family's ancestors, which Morticia had bestowed upon her earlier.

With her family reunited and safe, Wednesday returns home alongside Pongo and Ophelia, who has undergone a remarkable transformation following exposure to Wednesday's formula. The pig-turned-human falls deeply in love with Pugsley, much to the delight of their eccentric clan. In a surprising revelation, Gomez confesses that he dons a toupee due to having lost his original hair during a harrowing napalm accident. He assures the family that next time, they will embark on an epic journey around the world.
