What group is led by the character Hurley?
In a quaint Southern town, a group of rambunctious greasers, led by Hurley, finds themselves stranded for the day while they wait for their motorcycles to be repaired at a modest roadside diner and gas station. Tensions rise as the bikers take over the garage, engaging in nerve-wracking games of chicken with switchblades, while drinking, dancing, and fine-tuning their rides to keep them humming like well-oiled machines.
Amidst the chaos, a stunning teenage beauty named Telena roars into the diner in a blazing red Corvette, instantly capturing the attention of Vance, one of the gang’s most charismatic members. Their chemistry ignites as they take a carefree spin around town, picking up beers and whiskey for their comrades back at the garage. As the sun sets, Vance and Telena find themselves at a nearby motel, where their undeniable attraction culminates in a passionate encounter.
However, just when they’re ready to leave, gunfire erupts, shattering the night and sending them diving for cover. It soon becomes clear that Tarver (J. Don Ferguson), Telena’s enraged father, is out for blood, having decided to teach her a lesson by shooting the tires of her prized Corvette. When he crashes into their motel room, Telena is forcibly torn away from Vance, leaving their blossoming romance in peril.
As fate would have it, the bikers stumble upon Tarver as he drives recklessly down the road, and in an act of retribution, they send his vehicle spiraling off the highway. The aftermath is horrific, leaving Telena injured amid the wreckage.
Meanwhile, at a local bar, the atmosphere thickens with tension as they are enthralled by Augusta, a captivating waitress from the diner, who has grown disillusioned with small-town life. Her sultry dance encapsulates the male patrons, inciting a frenzy among them as they become entranced by her performance.
In the men’s restroom, Tarver manipulates his brother Sid into joining him for a surprise ambush on the bikers, seemingly spurred on by earlier praises for Vance’s relationship with Telena, which he viewed as an expression of virility. Unbeknownst to them, destiny has other plans in store.
While Ricky, one of the bikers, enters the bathroom to relieve himself, Tarver seizes what he believes to be the perfect opportunity, launching a sneaky attack on Ricky mid-urination. The ensuing struggle erupts into chaos, spilling out into the bar as violence ignites and gunfire rings out.
Amid the disorder, Tarver is swiftly struck down by a barrage of bullets, leaving the patrons in a state of alarm as they assume the bikers are enacting revenge. The truth, however, is far more intricate: Telena, fueled by a yearning for freedom from her father’s relentless abuse and the haunting memories of her mother’s suicide, has taken decisive action, eliminating Tarver with cold precision.
As the gunfire continues to echo through the bar, Vance stands outside, smoking a cigarette while he watches Telena take the driver’s seat of her car. With a heavy heart, she grasps the pistol that claimed her father’s life and uses it to end her own. The bikers, their expressions somber and grave, mount their motorcycles and glide out of town, leaving behind the debris of chaos and the lingering shadows of their former lives.
