The Next 365 Days is assessed as a largely deficient sequel that fails to engage on artistic, narrative, or emotional levels. Reviewers cite uninspired direction, shallow characterisation, and a disjointed plot that offers little beyond gratuitous content. Minor technical merits such as occasional solid shots or acceptable music are outweighed by pervasive flaws. Consequently, the film leaves minimal lasting appeal and little incentive for repeat viewings.
The Movie Echo Score Breakdown for The Next 365 Days
Art & Craft
In terms of art and craft, the film presents a notably uneven visual execution. Critics point to bland production design and underwhelming costume work, while a few viewers acknowledge occasional well‑composed shots and impressive location scouting. Nevertheless, the overall direction and editing lack cohesion, contributing to a diminished cinematic quality that leans toward the negative side of the scale.
Character & Emotion
When evaluating character and emotion, the consensus is that performances feel hollow and unengaging. Reviewers describe the protagonists as shallow, with limited emotional resonance and questionable relational dynamics. The few positive remarks about actor appeal are insufficient to offset the pervasive sense of blandness, resulting in a low assessment of the film's character work.
Story & Flow
The story and flow are widely regarded as fragmented and lacking originality. Critics highlight an incoherent plot, sluggish pacing, and an ending that fails to provide clear resolution. Some users note a marginal improvement in narrative depth compared with earlier installments, yet overall the narrative remains confusing and unsatisfying, anchoring the score in the lower range.
Sensory Experience
Sensory experience receives mixed feedback. While the soundtrack is frequently criticized as poor, a subset of reviewers mentions decent musical moments and visually appealing shots. Sound design and visual cohesion are generally seen as mediocre, with occasional highlights that do not substantially elevate the overall sensory impact, placing the score modestly above the midpoint of the negative spectrum.
Rewatch Factor
Rewatch factor is consistently low across critiques. The film is described as lacking replay value, with many advising against further viewings. A few comments note a slightly better ending that may appeal to dedicated fans, but these limited positives do not overcome the widespread perception of the sequel as a disposable entry, resulting in a very low rewatch rating.

Massimo visits the grave of his twin brother, Adriano, who met a tragic end in the turmoil of the previous film. Following this somber visit, he checks on Laura, who is recovering from the traumatic ordeal caused by Anna and Adriano’s attack. Despite the doctor advising against intimacy during her healing process, the sexually frustrated Laura finds a way to seduce Massimo during one of his business meetings, setting the stage for a complicated relationship.
Later, while unwinding with her best friend Olga, Laura reflects on her miraculous survival and ponders what she could achieve with this unexpected second chance at life. Suddenly, her phone rings—it’s Nacho, reaching out to apologize for his earlier deceit and confessing that he can’t stop thinking about her. Though Laura pushes him away, she confides in Olga, admitting her internal struggle with her attraction to Massimo’s rival, even amidst her marriage.
The two friends decide to let loose at a club, leading to a heated encounter between Laura and Massimo, culminating in passionate intimacy after a private strip performance. However, the shadow of Laura’s past actions looms large; Massimo’s jealousy flares up as he recalls Laura’s escape with Nacho to a secluded island and her silence about a lost pregnancy. The tension escalates as Laura accuses Massimo’s family of contributing to her trauma.
The following morning, Massimo attempts to mend the rift during a moment of intimacy, but he quickly realizes that Laura is mentally elsewhere, distracted by thoughts of Nacho. Trying to lighten the mood, Massimo explores a kink club with his associates, but any thought of infidelity slips away as he remains loyal to Laura.
Caught in a whirlwind of emotional turmoil, Laura focuses on advancing her fashion career, stepping into the role of a brand ambassador. Soon, she and Olga are invited to the Lagos Fashion Fair in Portugal, where, coincidentally, Nacho is competing in a surfing contest. Despite her intentions to avoid him, Laura finds herself besieged by vivid sexual dreams of Nacho, which complicates her feelings further.
Their paths cross at a nightclub during the fashion show, where sparks fly after a meaningful conversation leads to a passionate kiss. They surrender to their desires and share an intoxicating experience on the beach. In a revealing moment, Nacho discloses that he saved Massimo’s life out of respect for Laura’s feelings and makes it clear he is willing to wait for her, despite his own love for her.
Returning to her hotel, Laura is met with a stormy confrontation from Massimo, who is furious over her actions. Tensions reach a breaking point as Laura threatens divorce and asks for space, to which Massimo, relinquishing control, complies.
Back in Poland, Laura reunites with her parents and confesses her uncertainty about her true feelings. Her mother reminds her that with her 30th birthday approaching, it has been nearly a year since she first met Massimo, urging her daughter to consider her own happiness. As Laura contemplates her feelings, a vivid dream involving a threesome with both men surfaces, illustrating her inner conflict.
A call from Olga reveals to Laura that Massimo is aware of her affair with Nacho and voices concern for Laura’s safety, fearing a violent reaction from Massimo. However, a composed Laura recognizes the necessity of returning to Sicily to face her husband. Upon her arrival, she learns that Nacho has taken the role of her chauffeur, revealing his deep-seated feelings for her that matured from friendship.
Laura expresses a need for clarity and time to process her emotions, prompting Nacho to assure her he will wait for her decision. Eventually, a confrontation on the beach with Massimo unveils deep-seated emotions as he opens up about his regrets regarding his controlling nature and absence during Laura’s time of need after her loss. When the subject of Nacho arises, Massimo shares wisdom from his father about the essence of love, asking Laura to choose between them. Laura, however, remains silent, and the film closes on a tense cliffhanger, leaving her ultimate choice uncertain.
