Benjamin, portrayed by Morris Chestnut, is an eager songwriter on a mission to establish his presence in the music industry. His opportunity arises when he hands a copy of his Christmas album recording to a popular hip-hop artist named J-Jizzy (played by Charles Q. Murphy). Meanwhile, Nancy, played by Gabrielle Union, is a dedicated single mother, engrossed in the demands of caring for her three children, often neglecting her own needs.

Things take an interesting turn when her daughter, Emily (Khail Bryant), overhears Nancy wishing for a compliment from a man. In a sweet act, Emily informs the local mall’s Santa Claus about her mother’s wish. It just so happens that this Santa is none other than Benjamin, who quickly takes note of Nancy’s beauty.

As fate would have it, after his shift at the mall, Benjamin enjoys a coffee at Starbucks with his friend Jamal (played by Faizon Love), where they spot Nancy entering a dry cleaners. Seizing the moment, Benjamin borrows Jamal’s jacket, pretends to drop it off at the cleaners, and tells Nancy she is an incredibly attractive woman, thus fulfilling her wish. This encounter sparks a romance between the two, leading them to develop deep feelings for each other, all while Benjamin remains unaware that Nancy’s ex-husband is J-Jizzy himself.

However, complications arise when Nancy’s eldest son, John-John (Malik Hammond), feels threatened by Benjamin’s presence and schemes to end their relationship. The movie unfolds through a delightful mix of humorous and heartfelt moments, portraying the true essence of family.

Adding a whimsical touch, Queen Latifah and Terrence Howard bring their own flair to the film as celestial beings. Howard embodies a playful and cunning angel known as “Bah Humbug,” whereas Latifah shines as the compassionate angel, aptly named “Mrs. Christmas.” Together, they guide the narrative with their unique perspectives on love and family dynamics.
