We Own the Night 2007

In November 1988, the landscape of New York is ravaged by a new, formidable breed of narcotics, unleashing a wave of crime more chilling than the city has seen in years. Struggling against relentless odds, the police force finds itself mourning the loss of their own members at an alarming rate, with two officers being laid to rest each month. An all-out war looms, threatening to ensnare both the guilty and innocent alike.

Caught in this perilous crossfire is Bobby Green, played by Joaquin Phoenix, who manages a Russian nightclub in Brighton Beach owned by his mentor, Marat Buzhayev.
