As dawn breaks over a grim landscape, Pedro and Jaime are abruptly awakened by the piercing sound of gunfire reverberating in the nearby woods. Driven by curiosity, they venture out to investigate, only to unearth a horrifying scene - the mangled remains of a man’s body. This shocking discovery leads them to a dilapidated shack, where they find María Elena, an elderly woman, along with her two terrified sons. Among them is Uriel, the eldest son who has fallen victim to becoming a “Rotten,” a wretched state brought on by an unborn demon waiting to manifest. The corpse they found was that of a “Cleaner,” a desperate individual summoned by María Elena in hopes of ending Uriel’s impending possession and averting disaster for others.

Unfortunately, the authorities brush off the horrific situation, labeling it as someone else’s problem. Struggling with the chaos, Ruiz, the landowner, attempts to dispose of Uriel by simply casting him out beyond his boundaries, hoping to stifle the Rotten’s influence. However, fate intervenes when Uriel tumbles from the truck, and despite narrowly evading a near-miss with a young boy, the trio soon realizes their troubles are far from over.

The following morning, Jimena, Ruiz’s pregnant wife, stumbles across one of their goats in a terrifying state of possession, its eyes illuminated with a sinister glow. Despite her warnings against the use of firearms, which only exacerbate the curse, Ruiz rashly takes action by violently executing the possessed creature. This hasty decision spirals into tragedy as Jimena, consumed by despair, turns on Ruiz with an axe before taking her own life.

In light of the unfolding chaos, Pedro and Jaime reach a point of desperation, realizing their only chance for survival lies in fleeing the town for refuge elsewhere. Jaime sets out to gather their family members, while Pedro heads to his ex-wife Sabrina’s home. This visit ignites a fierce argument between Pedro, Sabrina, and her new husband Leonardo, as Pedro attempts to reclaim his two children, Jair and Santino.

Amid the turmoil, the family dog, once harmless, now corrupted by Pedro’s demon-tainted clothes, suddenly attacks Vicky, Leonardo and Sabrina’s daughter, with savage fury. As Pedro and Leonardo rush to save her, Leonardo is left with no choice but to shoot their beloved pet. Pedro returns to Sabrina to find her daughter miraculously unharmed, yet now menacing her mother with an ominous presence. Seizing the moment, Pedro hastily escapes with his sons in Sabrina’s vehicle.

As Pedro speeds away from the madness, he witnesses Leonardo’s unsuccessful attempt to rescue Vicky and Sabrina, culminating in a catastrophic car crash before Vicky is displayed alive and dancing, seemingly immune to the surrounding malevolence.

The family unit, now comprised of Pedro, Jaime, and their mother, seeks sanctuary in the home of Mirta, a former Cleaner and Jaime’s confidante. They arrive at Mirta’s abode, where she warns them about Jair, who exhibits signs of possession due to his autism. Sadly, Jaime dismisses her concerns. Mirta’s warnings soon prove valid when Sabrina’s reanimated corpse, a victim of demonic influence, abducts Santino. In a frantic effort to protect their family, Mirta instructs Jaime to pursue the possessed entity while she and Pedro search for Uriel, intent on eradicating the demon scourge.

Jaime’s desperate mission to rescue his loved one leads him to a dark revelation: Sabrina has claimed another victim - Santino. In anguish, Jaime drives straight into a tree, overwhelmed by the loss. Meanwhile, Pedro and Mirta’s relentless search brings them to a schoolhouse overtaken by possessed children, who deceitfully plot to facilitate the demon’s birth. They finally locate Uriel beneath the stage of a small auditorium, with Pedro trying to extract him while Mirta prepares the tools necessary for exorcism.

Frustrated by their slow progress, Pedro is misled by one of the children regarding a fire axe, prompting him to abandon Mirta in haste. Tragically, as he rushes to the office, he becomes trapped and powerless to intervene as the children brutally slay Mirta and dismantle the equipment needed for the confrontation. Enraged by his helplessness, Pedro lashes out at Uriel’s lifeless body, unwittingly igniting the demon’s birth. As the sinister entity emerges from Uriel’s remains, it cruelly toys with Pedro before vanishing into the sunlight, accompanied by the possessed children.

Ultimately, Pedro, Jaime, and Jair return home, only for Jaime to encounter Uriel’s possessed brother, who chillingly reveals that he has devoured both their mother and the original Cleaner. They are met with an even more horrific truth: Jair, hidden under the guise of his autism, has also become possessed, having consumed strands of Pedro’s mother’s hair while indulging in ice cream. As Pedro grapples with this devastating revelation, he collapses outside, overwhelmed by an all-consuming grief and despair.
