Plot Summary
In the vibrant city of Chicago, Fotoula “Toula” Portokalos is a 30-year-old woman who finds herself entangled in the lively and sometimes overwhelming dynamics of her large Greek family. Her father, Gus, is particularly eager for her to marry and start a family of her own. Despite living comfortably with her parents and working in their restaurant, “Dancing Zorba’s”, she yearns for the freedom and independence that comes with adulthood.
One fateful day, while working at the family eatery, Toula encounters Ian Miller, a teacher who becomes the object of her affection.
