Amber Evangeline Valletta, born February 9, 1974, is an American model and actress. Valletta began her impressive career as a fashion model, landing her first American Vogue cover in February 1993. During the 90s, she rose to supermodel status, becoming the face of renowned brands like Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Escada, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino, Gucci and Versace. Notably, she signed multimillion-dollar cosmetics contracts with Calvin Klein and Elizabeth Arden. From 1995 to 1996, Valletta co-hosted the MTV show House of Style. In the 2000s, Valletta transitioned into acting, with her first major film role as a poltergeist in Robert Zemeckis's supernatural thriller What Lies Beneath. She has since appeared in films such as Hitch, Transporter 2, Man About Town, Dead Silence, Gamer & The Spy Next Door. In 2011, she migrated to television, featuring in a recurring role on ABC's drama television series Revenge and starred as Carla Briggs in another ABC soap opera, Blood & Oil in 2015. Valletta was born in Tucson, Arizona and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her mother, Theresa Malaby, worked at the post office. She has a half-brother named Robert Parks-Valletta. Valletta is a Cherokee Nation citizen and her grandmother is Portuguese. Valletta got her start in the fashion industry at the age of 15 at the Linda Layman Agency and has been a key figure in the industry ever since.
