Ted Riker, the crème de la crème of salesmen in New York's Bineview office, is tasked with mentoring Jamie Bashant, his greenhorn counterpart. Despite Ted's best efforts to guide Jamie through the ins and outs of the job, the young man's ineptitude remains a persistent thorn in their side.

Ted's path crosses Belisa, Jamie's fiancée, who is smitten by Ted's unbridled confidence and charisma. As they grow closer, they find themselves lost in each other's arms, with a shared secret that threatens to upend their respective relationships. Their tryst becomes an all-consuming affair, with Ted revealing the scars of his past failed love, which drove him to leave academia behind for the fast-paced world of sales.

As Ted and Belisa delve deeper into their illicit romance, they discover a mutual fascination with Oscar Wilde's timeless masterpiece, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Their clandestine meetings and whispered promises only serve to further fuel their passion, even as Ted's performance at work begins to suffer. His once-sterling sales numbers plummet, putting the company in jeopardy.

Meanwhile, Belisa tries to console Ted's wounded soul, but her efforts are ultimately for naught as Jamie's incompetence reaches new heights. The hapless salesman is eventually let go, his suspicions of infidelity towards Belisa growing more fevered by the day. As he teeters on the brink of a nervous breakdown, Belisa makes the difficult decision to end things with Ted and focus on rekindling her relationship with Jamie.

However, just as it seems like all hope is lost for Ted, Belisa returns to him, having broken free from her obligations. The pair's love continues to blossom, but their happiness is short-lived, as Bineview's fortunes take a drastic turn for the worse. The company's stock price plummets, and its very existence is threatened by a competing firm.

As Ted's office prepares to shut down, he finds himself without a care in the world, despite the impending doom surrounding him. He pays Belisa a visit, only to find her gone, replaced by the eerie feeling that Jamie and Belisa have been secretly working together all along. The truth slowly begins to reveal itself: Jamie is not just a hapless salesman but a ruthless leader of a team of double agents, tasked with infiltrating Bineview and targeting its top performers in an effort to weaken the company ahead of a corporate takeover.

As Jamie (character name not provided) revels in his triumph over Ted's (actor name not provided) faltering sales performance, alongside Belisa (actress name not provided), a growing sense of discomfort settles over the latter. The weight of their shared deceit proves too much to bear, and she excuses herself from the celebration, retreating to the solitude of her own home.

Meanwhile, Ted's journey takes him down an uncertain path, his destination unknown but his spirit buoyed by the prospect of rediscovering a passion long lost. Back at Belisa's residence, she stumbles upon a poignant message left behind by Ted within the pages of Oscar Wilde's classic novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. As she reads the words penned by her erstwhile friend and confidant, the truth begins to sink in: Ted is well aware of the reality they had sought to conceal.

The revelation leaves Belisa reeling, her heart shattered into a thousand pieces as she grapples with the devastating consequences of their collective deception. The film draws to a close on an image of Ted returning to his true calling, his face aglow with a sense of fulfillment and contentment, having finally found his way back to the profession that brings him joy.
