Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy, born on 16th April 1996, is a remarkable actress known for her versatility across varied genres ranging from horror, black comedy, to period dramas. She was born in Miami but raised in Buenos Aires and London. Taylor-Joy dropped out of school at 16 to pursue her passion for acting and quickly made a name for herself with small television roles. Her significant breakthrough came from her leading role in the acclaimed horror film 'The Witch' (2015). She further showcased her talents in films like 'Split' (2016), 'Glass' (2019), 'Thoroughbreds' (2017), and the television crime drama series 'Peaky Blinders' (2019–2022).

For her brilliant performance as Emma Woodhouse in the period drama 'Emma' (2020), she received her first Golden Globe Award nomination. Her flawless portrayal of Beth Harmon in the Netflix period drama miniseries 'The Queen's Gambit' (2020) brought her international recognition, earning her a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with an Emmy nomination.
