**Carmen Elizabeth Ejogo** is a renowned British actress and singer. She started her career in the late 1980s and achieved fame for her memorable roles in various films such as 'Metro' (1997), 'Love's Labour's Lost' (2000), 'What's the Worst That Could Happen?' (2001), 'Boycott' (2001), 'Sparkle' (2012), 'Alex Cross' (2012), 'The Purge: Anarchy' (2014), 'Selma' (2014), 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' (2016) and its sequel, 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' (2018). She showcased her diverse acting skills in a range of television series, including the NBC crime drama series 'Kidnapped' (2006–2007), ABC thriller series 'Zero Hour' (2013), Starz anthology drama series 'The Girlfriend Experience' (2017), HBO anthology crime series 'True Detective' (2019), and Netflix limited series 'Self Made' (2020). Besides her acting, Ejogo nurtured her music career; she collaborated with several artists and wrote and sang lead vocals on a range of songs. Ejogo was born on 22 October 1973 in Kensington, London, England. Her mother was Scottish and her father was Nigerian, making her heritage richly diverse. She took her early education from Oratory Roman Catholic Primary School and Glendower Preparatory School later attending Godolphin and Latymer School. She launched her career as the host of the Saturday Disney morning show from 1993 to 1995. Ejogo has the distinction of appearing as civil rights activist Coretta Scott King in two films: 'Boycott' (2001) and 'Selma' (2014). Her personal life saw her marrying trip-hop artist Tricky briefly, and later American actor Jeffrey Wright, with whom she has two children.
