Edward Norton

Edward Harrison Norton (born August 18, 1969) is an American actor and producer. After earning his degree in history from Yale College, he embarked on his acting career. He first gained recognition for his role in Primal Fear (1996) that earned him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination. Norton's portrayal of a reformed neo-Nazi in American History X (1998) granted him another Academy Award nomination, and his role in Fight Club (1999) garnered a cult following.

He founded Class 5 Films and has directed and produced numerous films. Norton's environmental activism includes being a trustee of Enterprise Community Partners and leading the American branch of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. He is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity. He has been recognized for his work in critically acclaimed and commercially successful films such as The Score (2001), The Italian Job (2003), The Illusionist (2006), Moonrise Kingdom (2012), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and Motherless Brooklyn (2019). Norton was born in Boston, Massachusetts, comes from a family dedicated on social activism and is known for keeping his personal life out of the public eye.
