Gabriel Iglesias

Gabriel Jesús Iglesias (born July 15, 1976) is an American stand-up comedian and actor known for his comedic style which encompasses observational comedy, surreal humor, clean comedy, self-deprecation, impressions, and satire. In his comedic work, he often reflects on topics such as Latin American culture, race relations, obesity, everyday life, pop culture and social awkwardness. He is famous for his catchphrase, 'I'm not fat, I'm fluffy,' and has created a hierarchy of fatness in his shows. Iglesias has produced a number of stand-up specials for television outlets such as Comedy Central and Netflix, including I'm Not Fat… I'm Fluffy, and Hot and Fluffy. Besides comedy, his acting career has also been remarkably successful. His roles include starring in the sitcom Mr. Iglesias on Netflix, playing Tobias in the movie Magic Mike, and providing the voice of Speedy Gonzales in Space Jam: A New Legacy. Iglesias made history in 2022, becoming the first comedian to sell out Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, which was later released as a Netflix special, Stadium Fluffy. Gabriel Iglesias' comedy is influenced by iconic figures like Paul Rodriguez, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, and Bill Cosby, and he is known for his signature Hawaiian shirts. Despite his jovial outward demeanor, Gabriel has also faced personal struggles, particularly relating to his health. He had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when he weighed his heaviest at 445 pounds, which pushed him to make drastic lifestyle changes and lose over 100 pounds.
