Check out what happened in UglyDolls!

In a world where toys come to life, a peculiar phenomenon unfolds within the walls of a toy factory. A hidden universe, known as Uglyville, is home to deformed dolls who are discarded into a tunnel leading to this secluded town. Among these misfit toys is Moxy (character name), an endearing doll who yearns for the "Big World" and the love of a child, despite the assurances of Mayor Ox that such a concept is merely a myth. Her desire for connection drives her to venture into the unknown, accompanied by Wage, the town's cynical baker; Ugly Dog, a carefree companion; Lucky Bat, a shy and wise sage; and Babo, a gentle giant with a soft heart.

As Moxy and her companions stumble upon the Institute of Perfection, they are introduced to an army of Perfect Dolls, or "Pretties," who are meticulously trained to conform to rigid standards. The vain leader, Lou, is dismissive of the UglyDolls' chances of passing the grueling Gauntlet, an obstacle course designed to simulate a human house. However, Moxy's infectious positivity and unwavering optimism eventually win over Lou, allowing her and her friends to train alongside the Pretties.

The UglyDolls face numerous setbacks during their early days of training, but they find solace in Mandy, a sympathetic Pretty who harbors a secret: poor eyesight that she dare not reveal for fear of being labeled "ugly" and sent to the dreaded recycling center. With her guidance, Moxy's group learns to emulate the Pretties' polished appearance, donning elaborate outfits and adopting mannerisms that belie their true nature.

Meanwhile, Lou's Spy Girls return with a kidnapped Mayor Ox, forcing him to confess that he once knew of the Big World and had nearly passed the Gauntlet under Lou's tutelage. However, the Pretties turned on him, and Lou banished him down the tunnel, claiming it led to safety. In reality, Ox discovered the recycling center at the end of the tunnel, where rejected dolls like himself were being shredded. This revelation prompted Ox to reroute the tunnel and establish Uglyville as a sanctuary for misfit toys.

As despair settles over the town, Moxy becomes disheartened by the realization that she and her friends are merely factory rejects. Mandy, however, visits Moxy and rekindles her faith, emphasizing its value in inspiring hope among the imperfect Pretties. This glimmer of optimism is short-lived, as Moxy and Mandy are ambushed by the Spy Girls and taken to Lou, who has unblocked the recycling center. With their fate hanging in the balance, Ox learns what transpires from Buttons and rallies the UglyDolls to mount a daring rescue mission to save Moxy and Mandy.

As the day of reckoning arrives at the Institute, the entire population of Uglyville converges on the Gauntlet, fueled by determination. Moxy, Mandy, and several fellow Uglies demand entry, refusing to be deterred. Lou, however, harbors a different agenda, secretly planning to sabotage their chances alongside a few accomplices. But as the competition unfolds, Lou's true nature is revealed in all its cowardly glory. Abandoning Nolan and the Spy Girls, he flees from the fray, leaving his cohorts to face the music.

A shocking display of callousness follows as Lou kicks a robot baby, reducing it to tears. In response, Moxy shows compassion to the distraught infant, prompting the others to follow suit, prioritizing the child's happiness over their own pursuit of perfection. The system, sensing the Uglies' true intentions, automatically grants them passage, recognizing that a Doll's ultimate purpose is to bring joy to a child. Lou, on the other hand, faces failure despite completing the course, and is forced to confront his artificial nature when he is forbidden from leaving the factory.

Enraged by Ox's near-success in passing the training, Lou resorts to sabotage, attempting to eliminate the Ugly in a desperate bid for superiority. However, his scheme backfires, and the portal to the human world is irreparably destroyed. As retribution, Lou is subjected to a humiliating ordeal at the hands of Nolan and the robot dog, who toss him into a washing machine.

In the aftermath, the Uglies and Pretties join forces to construct a new, permanently open portal that transcends the need for training. United in their quest for inclusivity, they merge their towns into the City of Imperfection, with Mayor Ox at its helm. Moxy finally crosses the threshold, cradled in the arms of her perfect match, Maizy, who shares her endearing missing tooth.

As the credits roll, a poignant contrast is revealed: while Uglies and Pretties have found their perfect human counterparts, Lou's fortunes have taken a drastic turn. Demoted to janitorial duty, he serves as a stark reminder of the consequences that come with allowing jealousy and ambition to consume one's actions.
