Jamie Lee Curtis, born on November 22, 1958, is a multifaceted American celebrity popularly known for her involvement in horror and slasher genres. Being termed as a **scream queen**, she has also bagged roles in comedies, receiving accolades such as an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. She's also been honored with two Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Grammy Award nomination. As the youngest daughter of famous actors, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, her journey in the world of acting began in 1977 with her television debut in the NBC drama series, Quincy, M.E.. Her fame skyrocketed with her impressive portrayal of Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's slasher film Halloween in 1978. She reprised the role in six of the Halloween sequels, culminating with Halloween Ends in 2022. Curtis also demonstrated her extraordinary talents in many genres outside of horror, notably for films like Trading Places (1983) and A Fish Called Wanda (1988). She went on to receive several honors for her performance in other films such as James Cameron's True Lies (1994), Freaky Friday (2003), and Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). As of 2023, her films have grossed over $2.5 billion at the box office. Outside her film career, Curtis also played significant roles in popular sitcoms, including Anything but Love (1989–1992) and Scream Queens (2015–2016). She made remarkable contributions as an author, writing a plethora of children's books, including Today I Feel Silly, and Other Moods That Make My Day, which made The New York Times's best-seller list.
