**Jessica Yu-Li Henwick**, born on 30th August 1992, is a notable British actress, writer, and director with a robust career commencing in 2009. Jessica, who hails from Surrey, is the daughter of a Singaporean-Chinese mother and a Zambian-born English father. Her father, Mark, is an author known for his urban fantasy series, 'Bite Back'. Jessica fine-tuned her acting talent at Collingwood College in Camberley and later trained at Redroofs Theatre School. Her career skyrocketed in June 2009 when, encouraged by her mother, she pursued a casting call in Chinatown, London, landing her the lead role of Bo in the CBBC series Spirit Warriors. This marked her as the first actress of East Asian descent to land a leading role in a British television series. With her debut in professional theater came her 2013 performance in the international premiere of Running on the Cracks, based on a book written by Julia Donaldson. This performance increased her visibility in the industry, leading her to roles in television series like Game of Thrones, Iron Fist, Netflix's The Defenders, and Luke Cage. Further contributing to her international recognition, Henwick took part in several globally acclaimed cinema projects, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Matrix Resurrections.
