Maya Hawke

**Maya Ray Thurman Hawke** (born July 8, 1998) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. Born in New York City, she is the elder child of veteran Hollywood actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. Hawke started her career in modelling, like her mother and grandmother, and made her acting debut as Jo March in the 2017 BBC adaptation of Little Women. Hawke achieved recognition for her role as Robin Buckley in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things (2019-present). Throughout her career, she has appeared in several films, including Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Fear Street Part One: 1994 (2021), Do Revenge (2022), Asteroid City (2023), and Maestro (2023), and has lent her voice for Inside Out 2 (2024). As a musician, she released albums Blush (2020), Moss (2022), and Chaos Angel (2024). Born to actors who met on the set of Gattaca and married in 1998, Hawke is the elder of their two children. Her parents divorced in 2005 and Hawke has a brother, Levon, along with three half-sisters. She has dyslexia, leading to a fluctuating primary education until her admission at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, which emphasises artistic creativity. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, and, briefly, at the Juilliard School. Besides Stranger Things, Hawke is known for her roles in Ladyworld, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Human Capital, and Mainstream. She also portrayed Annie Brown in the miniseries The Good Lord Bird, starred in Italian Studies, Fear Street Part One: 1994, and participated in the spin-off podcast Rebel Robin: Surviving Hawkins.
