Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris (born June 15, 1973) is a multi-talented American personality who has worn different hats as an actor, singer, writer, producer, and television host. Known for his comedic television roles, and dramatic and musical stage roles, he gained recognition and accolades throughout his career, including a Tony Award and five Primetime Emmy Awards. His television career includes the title character on the ABC series Doogie Howser, M.D. as well as Barney Stinson on CBS's How I Met Your Mother. He has also made a remarkable appearance on Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events as Count Olaf. Aside from his television career, he is also famous for his roles in Starship Troopers, The Smurfs, and Gone Girl among others.

Harris's stage career kicked off when he made his Broadway debut in David Auburn's play Proof in 2002 and later, he won the Tony Award for Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He has hosted the Tony Awards four times and was once named among Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2010. His career began as a child actor and since then, he held numerous roles in TV shows, Broadway, and films. He led a private life keeping his sexuality undisclosed until 2006 when he publicly admitted being gay. He is currently married to actor and chef David Burtka, with whom he has two children.
