Ralph Fiennes

Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, more commonly known as Ralph Fiennes, was born on 22 December 1962 in Suffolk, England. This English actor, film producer, and director has a remarkable repertoire, having starred in various roles across different film genres. A product of RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), Fiennes's career was studded with numerous iconic roles and performances. His initial notable roles were in plays at the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. His first film role was Heathcliff in Emily Brontë’s 'Wuthering Heights' (1992). Fiennes gained international acclaim for portraying Amon Göth in Steven Spielberg's 'Schindler's List' (1993), which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and won him the BAFTA for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. His performance in 'The English Patient' (1996) also earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Apart from these, his filmography includes movies such as 'Quiz Show' (1994), 'The End of the Affair' (1999), 'In Bruges' (2008), 'The Reader' (2008), 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014), among others. He is also recognized globally for playing Lord Voldemort in the 'Harry Potter' film series and M in the James Bond films. Fiennes is not only successful in front of the camera, but he also prospered behind it. In 2011, he made his directorial debut with the adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy 'Coriolanus' and played the title role. He is the recipient of a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for 'Hamlet'. Aside from his acting and directing career, Fiennes is also an ambassador for UNICEF UK and an Honorary Associate of the London Film School. He was recognized for his significant contributions to acting with the Stanislavsky Award in 2019. Throughout the years, Fiennes has remained one of Britain's best-known and most versatile actors.
