Rob Delaney

Rob Delaney, born on January 19, 1977, is a remarkable American-British comedian, actor, writer, and activist. He gained public recognition through his active participation on the social media platform Twitter, where he began posting in 2009. By 2016, his Twitter account boasted over 1.2 million followers. Regarded as one of the first comedians to exploit social media to publish jokes, his influence was heightened after Irish comedy writer Graham Linehan interacted with his tweets. In 2010, Paste magazine honored Delaney as one of the ten funniest people on Twitter. Among his numerous achievements, Delaney made history in May 2012 as the first comedian to receive the award for "Funniest Person on Twitter" at The Comedy Awards. In his prolific career, Delaney has shown incredible versatility. He co-created and starred as Rob Norris in the popular sitcom Catastrophe (2015–2019) and played Peter Wisdom in the superhero films Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). Delaney flexed his writing muscles by authoring articles for Vice and The Guardian, and published his book Rob Delaney: Mother. Wife. Sister. Human. Warrior. Falcon. Yardstick. Turban. Cabbage., as well as a memoir titled A Heart that Works reflecting on his son Henry's battle with brain cancer. Delaney remains a significant figure in comedy, literature, and activism, using his platforms to discuss health concerns, including depression and alcoholism. He currently resides in London with his wife, Leah, and three living sons.
