Ryan Anthony Guzman, born September 21, 1987, is a well-known American actor, famous for leading roles in noteworthy movies. His most acclaimed roles include Sean Asa in Step Up Revolution and Step Up: All In, the erotic psychological thriller The Boy Next Door, and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz in the ABC procedural drama 9-1-1. He was born in Abilene, Texas to Ramón Guzmán Jr., an immigrant from Mexico and Lisa Anne, a Californian with diverse European ancestry. Guzman's family later relocated to Sacramento, California. Before venturing into acting, Guzman pursued mixed martial arts and also worked as a print and commercial model. He began his acting journey with the movie Step Up Revolution in 2012, despite having no formal dance training. He reprised his role in the sequel, Step Up: All In. Furthermore, he starred in two other films in 2014, There's Always Woodstock and April Rain, along with being part of the television show Pretty Little Liars. His first significant television role came in NBC's superhero drama Heroes Reborn, and he joined 9-1-1 in 2018, taking on the role of LAFD firefighter Eddie Diaz. Guzman's personal life included a relationship with Brazilian actress Chrysti Ane, with whom he has two children.
