Shailene Woodley

Shailene Diann Woodley, born November 15, 1991, is an American actress renowned for her roles in multiple films and television series. Her acting career began in 1999, gaining prominence for her leading role in the ABC Family teen drama series The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008–2013). Woodley's work in film includes her performance in The Descendants (2011) and The Spectacular Now (2013), with the former earning her a Golden Globe nomination. She achieved widespread recognition for playing a cancer patient in the drama film The Fault in Our Stars (2014) and also embodied Beatrice Prior in the science-fiction trilogy The Divergent Series (2014–2016). Further roles included a sexual assault survivor in the HBO series Big Little Lies (2017–2019), earning her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, and various supporting roles in films including Snowden (2016), The Mauritanian (2021) and Ferrari (2023), as well as lead roles in Adrift (2018) and The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021). Apart from acting, Woodley is a notable environmental activist, serving as a Greenpeace Oceans Ambassador and working with organizations such as Conservation International and GoodLeap's Advisory Council. She co-founded the nonprofit All it Takes, focusing on youth development.
